The New Rules of Denim
4 simple ways to make jeans work harder for you
Stick to the basics
Overly distressed denim and tricky pocket treatments are tired. Clean washes and a simple back pocket look fresh and go with almost everything, stick to the simplicity of a classic.
Keep it straight
A straight leg is the safest option for any man, but rather wear yours on the fitted side. Not so skinny you can't breathe, but you should still be comfortable.
Accept a little dirt
Washing denim too often will fade it, so try this: Don't. Your jeans are supposed to be a little worn in. When you're wearing a suit, you want it to be perfect, but why should jeans be too clean, too pressed, or too perfect?
Take a timeout
Jeans shouldn't be your default for every occasion. It’s tempting, but try and mix it up a bit with other styles so denim doesn’t define your style. Every man should make, and enforce, a personal dress code.
